✏️ How to Practice Hanzi Writing

Step 1 - Learn Stroke Order: Understand the correct order of strokes. In Chinese, strokes follow specific rules (top to bottom, left to right, horizontal before vertical).

Step 2 - Trace the Character: Use tracing paper or a light table to trace over the character multiple times. This helps develop muscle memory.

Step 3 - Write from Memory: After tracing, try writing the character from memory. Compare your writing with the original.

Step 4 - Practice in Context: Write the character as part of words and phrases. For example, write 爸爸, 妈妈, 哥哥 rather than just 爸, 妈, 哥.

Step 5 - Repeat Regularly: Consistency is key. Practice a little bit every day rather than cramming all at once.

📐 Chinese Stroke Order Rules

1. Top to Bottom: Strokes at the top are written before strokes at the bottom

2. Left to Right: Strokes on the left are written before strokes on the right

3. Horizontal Before Vertical: Horizontal strokes are usually written before vertical strokes that cross them

4. Outer Before Inner: The outer structure of a character is written before the inner content

5. Center Line Last: A vertical line through the center is often written last
